General Description
Set in a small hamlet in the Duras wine region, “Chez Maison” as the above suggests provides modern living within ancient walls. The house has been renovated many times over the years but has retained many of its original features. Originally used as a Monastery in the 12th century it has now been lovingly restored to provide spacious family accommodation for 6 people, the large oak beamed ceiling provides the perfect backdrop for the modern fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area, 4 bedrooms (1 double with en suite shower, 1 twin and 2 singles) 2 WC’s and 2 shower rooms. Outside there is a beautiful large private courtyard with heated pool, BBQ and dining facilities and to the front of the house. Across a small `chemin rural` (access road), is a large garden with pergola, eating and sunbathing area.

Master bedroom with en suite shower and hand basin.
Large twin room and 2 single rooms.
All rooms have been tastefully decorated and each has ample wardrobe space.
There is an en suite shower within bedroom 1.
Upstairs there is a separate bathroom with shower, double vanity unit, toilet and separate handbasin. Dowstairs there is again a shower, toilet and handbasin, ideal for use after using the pool.

The kitchen is modern and new, open plan by design, with breakfast bar, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and large family size cooker
The living room retains many of its original features, oak beamed ceiling and is large, spacious and open plan by design. There is ample comfortable seating, a log burning fire, satellite TV and DVD.d large oven.

Swimming Pool
We have also made the pool as safe as we can for young children. It is above ground and has easilly removable steps, it makes it both enjoyable for children and parents as once the steps are removed the pool is safe for children and parents can relax

Outside
One of the most attractive features of ‘Chez Maison’, is the large private courtyard, with Russian Vine draping the original stone walls and pergola. Within this courtyard is the HEATED swimming pool, dining area and BBQ all providing for sumptuous luxury at all times. Chez Maison also boasts a separate peaceful garden again equipped to the same standard with dining area, pergola etc.

Location
Chez Maison is situated in a small hamlet, with quiet and peaceful surroundings. The local area is ideal for relaxing, walking and sunbathing. Nearby you have the village of Villeneuve (3km) which has a boulangerie and excellent restaurant for lunch and evening meals.
The town of Duras is only 9 km away and has shops, restaurants, bars and large market every Monday, plus the imposing medieval chateau looking over the many vineyards situated in the surrounding valley.
The property is ideally situated for all wine lovers, nestling in the heart of the Duras Wine region and only 15 min drive from the excellent vineyards of the renowned AOC Bergerac wines, and 50min north to the St Emillion vine yards, not to mention the beautiful drive to the Bordeaux region. The local area offers an enormous variety of vineyards from small to large most with tasting available on the property.
Chateau Monbazillac is yet another local attraction offering its world renowned sweet white wines, a must for any wine tour in this area.
Ther are many superb annual wine fairs, festivals and events, such as Bastille day, Table de Cyrano, Duras and Sigoules wine fairs and numerous others, if you wish your holiday to coincide with one we will be happy to provide dates and information.

Changeover Details
Prices reduced by 5% for 2 week bookings and there are further reductions for couples, e mail for full details.
There is a small surcharge for pool heating, if required, and for the supply of wood for the cooler parts of the year.
5% reductions for remaining weeks May, June and July.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, this may be flexible during the low/mid season.

Extra Details
We pride ourselves on no extra hidden costs, and as you can see from the brouchure we include all linen towels pool towels etc in our pricing the only extra would be pool heating which you may or may not need
As our brouchure`s say we try and make everything as easy as possible this includes, all the worry before hand, you will recieve via e mail full maps and house information to get you there safetly and if you fly into bergerac we can depending on flight times arrange to meat you there and take you to the house.
There is a cot and high chair, booster seat and baby bath and baby gates are fitted at the top and bottom of the stairs
