Property Details

General Description
A charming 150 year old tufa stone cottage, typical of the Loire region, set peacefully in a hamlet in rural France, yet near all the attractions of this beautiful World Heritage designated area.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms
Upstairs there are 2 charming bedrooms, both with beams so mind your heads! One has 1 double bed, the other has 1 double plus 1 single bed. This bedroom is unclosed, but has pretty drapes to help preserve your modesty!! Please note the bedrooms are up steep wooden stairs, so you may not find this suitable for the very young or elderly!!

Living Areas
There is a cosy lounge, with beams & a large ancient tufastone fireplace--with a log burner for those cooler autumn evenings! There are 3 comfy sofas, & plenty of cds, books & games for a rest from TV,

Kitchen / Dining
The large kitchen is very well equipped, with full sized gas cooker, dishwasher & microwave. (Washing machine is in the utility room next to bathroom, where there is also an extra wc) Plenty of dishes & cutlery are provided to encourage you to stay at home "chez vous" & take advantage of the fantastic fresh fish, good quality meat & bargain wines, There is an excellent large supermarket 10-15 mins away at Longue, plus interesting traditional French markets daily in different towns nearby--the best are Bourgueil on Tuesdays & Saumur on Saturdays.

Outside
Large flat enclosed gardens to front and rear with ample parking on driveway. There is a south facing patio for those fantastic sunny days, with a large table & chairs for all the al fresco meals you will be enjoying, There is a full sized Outback charcoal BBQ for your enjoyment. Then just relax and look in the clear night skies for comets or even shooting stars--no light pollution here!

Location
Le P`tit Poirier (Little Peartree) is in the small hamlet of Tesseul, approx 20 mins drive north of the beautiful riverside town of Saumur, with its chateau, famous equestrian events and wonderful sparkling wines! It is also well placed for visiting other chateaux such as Usse (Sleeping Beauty) Azay-le- Rideau and even Fontevraud Abbey-the final resting place of Richard the Lionheart & Eleanor of Aquitaine. More vineyards with great free tastings are at Bourgueil & Chinon, and all along the Loire there are wonderful picnic areas.

Changeover Details
Usuall Sat to Sat, but off-season can be more flexible, even can arrange short breaks to take advantage of low cost airlines now flying into Tours(45mins away) Angers(35 mins) or Nantes (75 mins)

Extra Details
Linen & towels can be provided at cost of 10 euros pp per week from nearby caretakers. Please enquire when booking.
