General Description
Chez Fely Cottage is a delightful Charentaise property which has been carefully restored to maintain some of its original features such as the ancient bread oven. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, fridge freezer, dish washer, microwave). Lounge with three comfortable sofas, fireplace, TV, DVD, music centre, video. French doors lead out into the private garden with delightful views over farmland. Upstairs there are two suites of bedrooms (1 double & 1 bunk bed with shower room and 1 double with one 2 bedded room and bathroom) the layout would suit large family or two families holidaying together. Outside there are three acres of gardens which house climbing frame, swings, trampoline, playing fields and a 12m x 6m pool. There is a selection of bikes available and the area has some delightful cycleways and walks. The local farmer sells eggs, milk, wine and Pineau

The Accommodation Chez Fely Cottage has all the facilities needed to ensure your holiday is relaxed and enjoyable.
Downstairs you will find a large kitchen/dining area with French doors leading on to the patio and private garden.
The kitchen is equipped with large fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, hob and oven all surrounding the original, ancient bread oven. The dining table can comfortably seat 8 adults.
Leading from the kitchen is the lounge area with 3 double sofas TV, video, DVD and hi-fi (there is a large selection of children’s DVD’s, videos and books available) The lounge also has a beautiful Charentaise fireplace with wood burning stove.
Upstairs there are 2 family suites. Each one comprises of a double bedroom which leads into either a bunk bedroom or twin bedroom. Each suite has its own shower and toilet facilities (ideal for extended family groups or two separate families.) There is also a downstairs shower room and toilet.
Outside the cottage has its own driveway. The private rear garden has beautiful views of fields and woodland where it is very common to see and hear the local deer and watch the friendly hoopoe birds.
From the cottage there is a path that leads past the swings to the secure yet beautiful 12x6 swimming pool shared with the owner and his family. This area is raised and so has lovely views of the surrounding area. Here you can dive and swim, play table tennis or simply sit and relax

Location
The local area Chalais is a small market town nestled in rolling countryside.
Dominating the town is the château of Talleyrand, standing guard over the town and looking out over rolling vineyards and sunflower fields.
Inside the château is the nationally renowned restaurant. Chalais has a good range of shops including a supermarket for all your essentials.
Chalais has a year round Monday market - not to be missed.
The picturesque village of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is very popular with French and foreign tourists alike as it has been voted one of the top ten prettiest towns in France. Here you can spend the day on the river beach, swimming or canoeing and then stroll in to the town for a pineau in the old village square.
Bordeaux is a 1 hour drive away. The town has an excellent park and ride tram system. This enables you to travel into the heart of the city and view the beautiful architecture and river without having to drive. Bordeaux has an easy mix of shops, cafés and exotic emporiums.
Also, within easy distance of Chez Fely is Angoulême
Chez Fely is 5 minutes from the Charente/ Dordogne border and the River Dronne. Where you can canoe the day away stopping only to enjoy a lazy picnic watching the kingfishers and otters.
Ten minutes away from the cottage is the water park of Paradou. It has a sandy beach, trampolines, swings, tennis, crazy golf, a water slide and last but by no means least a friendly bar for a beer when the temperatures soar.
If you wish to have a day at the seaside we are just over an hour away from the beaches of the Charente-Maritime at Royan and La Rochelle and less than two hours away from the beaches of Cap Ferret and Archachon.

25% deposit to be paid to secure booking request
Remainder to be paid 8 weeks prior to commencement of holiday
£200 damages deposit to be paid at time of final payment
Assuming the property is left in an acceptable condition and there are no damages to the property or furnishings this deposit will be refunded 2 weeks after departure
Welcome Basket on arrival - including tea, coffee, milk, water, wine and bread. Additional items may be ordered in advance.
